Svetozar Stefanovic Earns CWPA Rookie of the Week Honors

Brown’s Svetozar Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) of the men’s water polo team continues to make history in becoming the first player in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) history to earn six weekly awards as he was named the Northern Division Rookie of the Week. Stefanovic earned Player of the Week honors on Sept. 14 and Sept. 28, as he now earned his fourth Rookie of the Week accolade after previously receiving recognition on Sept. 7, 21 and Oct. 12 awards.

Stefanovic helped lead the Bears to Northern Division victories over Connecticut College (W, 22-8), and Queens College (W, 16-10), in addition to a 17-9 win over Mercyhurst College of the CWPA’s Southern Division.

He notched five goals against Queens, chipped in a hat-trick with three markers versus Mercyhurst and tacked on six more in the Connecticut College game as he has helped Brown to a 5-1 record to date in the Northern Division.
