Providence, RI - The United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced its 2006-2007 All-Academic Teams. The Brown Men's Track & Field squad was not only successful on the track this year, but also in the classroom. The Bears obtained the fourth highest GPA in a field of 34 Division I men's programs with a 3.280, while also ranking the highest amongst the Ivy League schools.
Paul Rosiak (Wood-Ridge, IL) and senior Jamil McClintock (Plainfield, NJ) also received accolades, as they joined 231 student-athletes from 88 colleges and universities on the Division I Men's All-Academic team.
Last month, Rosiak represented Brown in the NCAA Championships in the javelin, and placed 18th overall. Earlier in the season, Rosiak was the Heptagonal champion in the javelin, was awarded First Team All-Ivy accolades, and was also named to the Academic All-Ivy team.
McClintock also had a successful season for the Bears, as the competed in the NCAA Regional meet placing 19th in the 110-meter hurdles. At Heps, he finished in second place in the 110 hurdles earning him Second Team All-Ivy honors.
