Men's Cross Country Takes 4th at Heptagonal Champs

New York City, NY - The men's cross country team finished fourth today at the Heptagonal Championships at Van Courtlandt Park, NY. Leading the way for the Bears were seniors Jeff Gaudette (Biddeford, ME) and Patrick Tarpy (Yarmoth, ME), as both finished with first-team All Ivy honors. Gaudette placed third overall in 24:46, and Tarpy was sixth in 24:53. Brown tallied 108 points for the day, behind host school Columbia (70), Dartmouth (79), and the University of Pennsylvania (87).

Continuing their success for the Bears, the duo of sophomore Chris Burke (Dexter, MI) and junior Owen Washburn (Amherst, MA) finished less than two seconds apart. They captured 22nd (25:31) and 24th (25:33).

Returning from injury, sophomore Nick Neely (Berkeley, CA) was the fifth and final scorer for the Bears in 73rd overall with a time of 26:36.

Brown will continue action on November 13th as they compete against the Northeast at NCAA Regionals, again in New York City.
