Frankin Park, MA - Franklin Park, MA- The Brown men's cross-country team opened up its 2002 season at Harvard Saturday afternoon in Franklin Park, MA. The Bears placed second with a score of 34, behind host Harvard who scored a 21 on the day.
Senior Chad Buechel finished second overall on the day with a time of 25:40. Sophomore Pat Tarpy was the second Bears finisher, placing fifth overall. Two newcomers had strong finishes for Brown. Freshman Chris Rigali tied for seventh place with a time of 26:22 and freshman Craig Fountain placed ninth with a time of 26:29.
Junior Matt Crimmin rounded out the top ten for Brown with a time of 26:37.
The Bears next meet will be at the Great American Cross-Country Festival in Charlotte, NC on Friday Sept. 27.
