Bears Take Sixth at Heps

Cambridge, MA - The men took home 6th in an intense battle at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. The Bears tallied 50 points for the weekend. Cornell won the team competition. The physical match-up resulted in a weekend of falls, disqualifications, and surprise finishes.

Ray Bobrownicki defended his high jump title with a 6-11.5 clearance.Ikenna Achilhu took fourth in the triple jump.

Owen Washburn starred for the distance squad, taking third in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 8:17.18. He also anchored the distance medley relay with a 4:10 mile split; his effort, along with that of Elridge Gilbert, Eamon Quick, and Jordan Kinley earned a victory for the relay squad (10:02.66).

The 4 x 400 meter relay of Will Bernitsky, Dallas Dissmore, Christian Tabib and Michael Pruzinsky followed with a third place effort of 3:18.52. Pruzinsky also brought points to the Bears with his individual 4th place in the 400-meter run with a time of 48.74. Dissmore did the same with his 3rd place finish in the 500-meter run (1:04.19).

The Bears will return to action next week at the IC4A Championships in Boston.
