Buechel Turns In Fifth All-Time Performance In Mile At USATF New England Championships

Boston, MA - The men's track team competed at the USATF New England Championship on Sunday Feb. 23. The meet had no team scoring. Highlighting the day for the Bears was senior Chad Buechel, who placed second in the mile with a time of 4:05.51, fifth best in Brown indoor history.
The 4x400 meter relay team took first with a time of 3:19.77. Freshman Jake Golenor (Redding, CA) placed third in the shot put with a throw of 14.99 meters. Sophomore Dave Glazier (Boxford, MA) finished fourth behind Golenor in the shot with a throw of 14.86 meters.
Also placing fourth was sophomore Daveed Diggs (El Cerrito, CA) in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.36. Junior Phil Sardis (Mission Viejo, CA) took fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.43. Rounding out the fourth place finishers was senior Steve Marino (Dunbarton, NH) in the 60 meter dash. He timed in at 7.12.
The Bears will head up to Dartmouth on Saturday Mar. 1 for the 2003 Heptagonal Championships.
