Boston, MA - The Brown men's track team took part in the Fast Track Invitational, hosted by Boston University on Feb. 15. Brown split its squad between the Armory Collegiate in New York City and the new indoor facility at Boston University. The Fast Track Invitational was an individual meet.
The highlights of the meet were turned in by two 3k runners and a shot putter. Sophomore Dave Glazier (Boxford, MA) threw a three-foot PR in the shot to finish at 52'0.5", finishing second in the event. In the 3k, junior Matt Emond (Green Harbor, MA) and sophomore Jeff Gaudette (Biddeford, ME) were looking to run sub-8:20.00 in order to get into the seeded section at Heps. They did just that with Emond finished fifth overall in 8:09.04, a 14-second PR, while Gaudette ran 8:13.28, also a PR, to finish seventh. In addition, Steve Marino showed he is rounding into form by running the 55-meter dash in 6.64.
Brown continues action on Feb. 23 at the USATF New England Championships.
