Men's Track & Field Team Compete at Giegengack Invitational

New Haven, CT - The Brown men's track & field team competed at the Giegengack Invitational at Coxe Cage in New Haven, CT, over the weekend. The Bears brought home some great finishes, as junior David Howard (Columbia, MD) was Brown's top finisher with both third and fourth place finishes in the weight throw and shot put, respectively.
In the 1,000-meter run, Brown's John Loeser (Weston, CT) crossed the finish line in third with a 2:27.86, followed by Alex Stern (Potomac, MD) in sixth with a 2:30.08. Kevin Cervantes (Los Angeles, CA) finished in seventh (50.00) in the 400m dash. Sean O'Brien (Westborough, MA) was the Bears best finisher in the 500m dash, coming in fourth (1:05.21).
In the field events, Howard placed third with a 58-03 in the weight throw and also took fourth in the shot put (51-01.75). Eric Wood (Eugene, OR) followed behind Howard in the weight throw with a 54-10.25 for fifth, and Wood followed in the shot put with a (50-06.25). Andrew Chapin (Redmond, WA) earned fourth in the triple jump (46-07.25).
Next, the Bears will compete at the Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Saturday, Feb. 9th.
