Men's Track & Field Earns Fourth Place at Harvard Select Meet

Cambridge, MA - The men's track & field team finished in fourth at the Harvard Select Meet at Gordon Track Center on Saturday afternoon. Senior Matthew Jasmin (Middletown, NY) recorded Brown's only title during the meet, earning first in the 60m hurdles and securing a spot in the IC4A's. The Bears finished in fourth place with a total of 40 points, behind UConn (175), Cornell (130) and New Hampshire (85). Harvard finished in last with a total of 27 points.
Sophomore Marc Howland (Cleveland Heights, OH) earned third place in the 60m dash with a 6.98 to qualify for the IC4As, and junior Andrew Chapin (Redmond, WA) also earned a spot with a second-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 14.47m.
In the 800m run, senior Sean O'Brien (Westborough, MA) posted a 1:55.18 for sixth place, and junior Duriel Hardy (West Chester, PA) earned fourth in the one mile run with a 4:17.45. Following right behind was freshman Anthony Schurz (South Bend, IN) with a 4:19.21 for fifth.
Brown "A" finished in second place in the distance medley with a time of 10:16.52, placing four seconds behind Connecticut's "A" team. In the field, Jordan Maddocks turned in a 1.95m jump to lead Brown with a seventh-place finish, and Chapin placed 10th in the long jump with a 6.33m.
