Matt Jasmin '09 Leads Men's Track & Field at Terrier Invitational

Cambridge, MA - Senior Matt Jasmin (Middletown NY) earned the top finish for the Brown men's track & field team as he posted a 7.70 in the 55m hurdles for third place during the Terrier Invitational this weekend.

Also turning in solid performances this weekend as sophomore Jordan Maddocks (Framingham, MA) with a sixth place finish in the high jump, as he cleared 1.89m, and also senior Jake Ricciardi (Ridgewood, NJ) in the pole vault posting a 4.20m for 13th.

Also stepping up for the Bears in the field was junior Andrew Chapin with a 14.15m leap for sixth place in the triple jump, and senior Bryan Powlen (Kewanna, IN) earned fifth place for his throw of 15.82 m in the shot put. Senior Tyler Prince (Daniels, WV) competed in the weight throw, tossing 15.18 m for 15th place.

In the running events, freshman Anthony Schurz (South Bend, IN) placed ninth in the 1,000m run with a 2:29.26, and was trailed by junior Alex Stern's (Potomac, MD) 2:30.84 good for 11th place.

Senior Sean O'Brien (Westborough, MA) placed 13th (1:05.01) in the 500m dash, while freshman Christian Trautwein (Ridgewood, NJ) recorded a 1:56.86 in the 800m run for 18th place.

The Bears will compete at Harvard with Cornell on Saturday, Jan. 31, in Cambridge, Mass.
