Brown Scorers in the Olympic Games

DAVID HALL '01 - Finished 3rd in the 880 yards in the 1900 Olympic Games in Paris.  Won 1st qualifying heat in 1:59.0.  Alfred Tysoe of Great Britain won the final in 2:01.2 with a 56.2 last 440.
NORMAN TABER '13 - Finished third in the 1,500-meter in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm.  Arnold Jackson of Great Britain won in 3:56.8.  Taber was third in 3:56.9. Also won silver medal as member of 3,000-meter relay team.
JOHN COLLIER '29 - Finished third in the 110-meter high hurdles in the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam.  Sydney Atkinson of South Africa won in 14.8.  Collier was third in 14.9 in the mud and rain.
FREDERICK POLLARD '37 - Finished third in the 110-meter high hurdles in the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.  Forrest Towns o the USA won in 14.2.  Pollard was third in 14.4.  Pollard was then a student at the University of North Dakota.  
ROBERT BENNETT '47 - Finished third in the hammer throw in the 1948 Olympic Games in London.  Imre Nemeth of Hungary won with a throw of 183'11".  Bennett was third in 176'3".
