Men’s Track & Field Sits Eighth After Day One of Ivy Championship

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Brown University men's track & field team is currently in eighth place with two points after the first day of the Ivy League Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted at Yale University.

Harvard is currently in first place with 54 points, followed by Dartmouth (26), Princeton (24.33), Cornell (20.66), Penn (18), Yale (6), Columbia (4) and Brown (2).

Sophomore Matthew O'Hara (Riverside, Calif.) placed fifth overall in the hammer throw with a toss of 183-03.

In the preliminarily round on the track, the Bears had several runners qualify for Sunday's finals, including Hunter Warwick (Monument, Colo.) in the 110-meter hurdles, Ajani Brown (Frisco, Texas) in the 400 meters, Martin Martinez (Waukegan, Ill.) in the 1,500 meters, Tyler Benster in the 800 meters and Ryan Kelly (Greenwich, Conn.) in the 200 meters.

After five events in the decathlon, two-time champion Evan Weinstock (Las Vegas, Nev.) sits in third place with 3,807 points, while teammate Peter Rhodes (Atlanta, Ga.) is fifth with 3,440 points.
