Before Brown: In the 2010 outdoor season Evan participated in three decathlons at the high school level ... At the Arcadia Invitational Evan placed fourth overall in the high school decathlon scoring 6394 ... Evan continued to improve in multiple events throughout his high school season and qualified for the Nevada state meet in all four of his events (LJ, 110 HH, HJ, 300 IH) ... He placed second in the 300 hurdles and finished 3rd in the 110 hurdles setting a personal record (14.81) ... In the 2010 summer Evan went on to win the Great Southwest decathlon and set a personal record in the decathlon (6515) when he placed 6th at the Junior National Championships in Iowa.
