Des Moines, IA- Brown University track & field standout Dan Lowry (Plymouth Meeting, PA) ended a great season with an 11th place finish in the 5,000-meter run at the 2012 NCAA Track & Field Championships hosted at Drake University.
"Dan ran a very fine race tonight. It was brutally hot, which made it hard for everyone," said men's distance coach Tim Springfield. " It was an outstanding field, and to finish 11th was a great job. It was exciting to see Dan run so well in his last collegiate race in a Brown uniform."
Lowry crossed the finish line in 14:00.04, and was the first Ivy League athlete to finish, beating Joe Stilin from Princeton who had defeated Dan at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. Southern Utah's Cameron Levins won the championship with a time of 13:40.05.
Lowry has the "B" standard for the Olympic Trials and will find out if he's accepted into the trials later this month.
