Brown Track & Field Competes at ECAC/IC4A Indoor Championships
Boston, MA- A small group of athletes from both the Brown University men's and women's track & field team competed at the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championship in Boston this weekend.
Senior Christian Escareno led the men this weekend with a fifth-place finish in the 5,000m run with a time of 14:14.62. Freshman John Spooney also had a good performance for the Bears this weekend, as he garnered a seventh place finish in the 200m dash after crossing the finish line in 21.49 seconds. Also, sophomore Kevin Cooper placed eighth in the 1,000m run with a time of 2:26.57, and Dan Lowry ran in the mile preliminaries and earned seventh with a 4:05.35.
For the women, senior Gabriela Baiter finished sixth overall in the triple jump with a jump of 40-02.00 (12.24 m), and Hannah Wallace posted a height of 11-07.75 (3.55m) in the pole vault to earn ninth place. Brown's Samantha Adelberg also competed this weekend, and ran a 2:08.48 first in the preliminaries of the 800m run.
