Head Track & Field Coach Michelle Eisenreich Announces Freshman Throwers

Providence, RI- Director of Cross Country and Track & Field, Michelle Eisenreich has recently announced her incoming class for the 2010-2011 track. 

"I am very pleased with our recruiting class this year," said Eisenreich.  "Our two men have produced the best high school marks of any athlete I have recruited to Brown in the last 10 years. Both women also have strong marks but are undertrained in track and field. I expect to see some huge improvements from them in their first year. More importantly than their high school accomplishments, each of these athletes has a tremendous work ethic and drive to be successful in track and field."

Joe Daou - Santa Monica, CA, Santa Monica HS

Joe was a 2010 Arcadia Invitational Finalist in the discus and shot as well as a California State Meet Finalist in the shot put.

He has PR's of 61' 7" in the Shot Put and 184' 5" in the discus.

Nick Keeling - Chepachet, RI, Ponaganset HS

In 2010, Nick won the Schomp Invite with a toss of 195' in the javelin. He went on to win the RI Class D championship with a throw of 193'10 and captured the RI State Championship with a throw of 205'8" Nick is also a strong sprinter with the following PR's.

100 dash: 10.8

200 dash: 22.2

4x100m relay: 43.78 (anchor)

Holleigh Bergstrom - Mead, WA, Mt. Spokane HS

Holleigh placed 4th at the Washington State meet in 2008 and 10th in 2010. She has a PR of 129' in the javelin.

Jessica Eason - Mansfield, MA, Mansfield HS

In 2007 Jess was the Hemlock League Champion and MA division II runner up in the shot. She was also the division II champion in the discus. In 2008 Jess repeated as divsion II runner up in the shot. 2009 she captured her first division II shot put championship with a throw of 40'7" and went on to finish 4th in New England's shot put 40'9". In 2010 Jess won her League Championship again and also captured her 2nd division II shot put Championships. She went on to win the state championship and finish 2nd at New England's with a P.R. and the Mansfield High School shot put record throw of 42' 7 1/2".
