PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's tennis team wrapped up its fall season over the weekend with freshman Jimmy Crystal (South Salem, NY) competing at the Dartmouth Invitational. Crystal competed in the "A" singles bracket and posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Andrew Malizia of Dartmouth to advance to the quarterfinals. Crystal then fell to Aba Omedele-Lucien of Harvard in the quarters, 6-3, 6-2, to finish with a 1-1 record as the Bears' lone representative at the Invite.
Brown has a successful fall, with sophomore Kendrick Au (St. John's, NF) and junior Nathaniel Gorham (Los Altos Hills, CA) each posting 12 total wins. Jonathan Pearlman (New York, NY) was next in win totals, earning 11 wins, while Crystal, senior Noah Gardner (Cambridge, MA), and freshman Andrew Yazmer (Simsbury, CT) all earned 10 total wins. Senior Sam Garland (Bradenton, FL) earned nine victories for the fall, while sophomore Charlie Posner (Cambridge, MA) earned seven and senior Chris Lee (Sudbury, MA) had two in an injury-shortened season.
In singles action, Au and Pearlman each earned seven wins to lead the team, while Gardner and Garland were the top winners in doubles action, earning eight wins each, including a 7-5 mark as a pairing, while advancing to the finals of the ITA Regional Championships.
