September 26, 2000 (Sept. 26, 2000) -- The Brown men's tennis team dominated the inaugural Northeast Intercollegiate Tennis Championship, held September 22-24 at the Brown Athletic Complex.

Junior Nick Malone (Greystrokes, Ireland) earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Brown sophomore Chris Drake (Needham, MA) to capture the Flight A singles championship.

Freshman Jamie Cerretani (Reading, MA) earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Brown freshman Alex Walden (Bradenton, FL) to win the B singles flight, while freshman Kris Goodard (Littleton, CO) earned a 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 victory over Boston College for the C singles flight title.

The team of Malone and Cerretani finished first in the A doubles flight, while sophomore JR Argo and Goodard captured the B flight doubles championship.
