Shamasdin and Charm Earn All-America Honors

PROVIDENCE, RI - Senior Adil Shamasdin (Pickering, ONT), who finished his career with the most wins (combined) ever, 216, in Brown history, and junior Philip Charm (Concord, MA) have each earned All-America status for reaching the quarterfinals of the 2005 NCAA Doubles Tournament. With the honor, Shamasdin and Charm are the first-ever All-Americans in Brown men's tennis history.

Ranked 47th in the country, they beat the 12th-ranked team in the country, Scott Brown and Jason Pinsky of Vanderbilt (6-2, 6-4) in the round of 32. In the Round of 16, Shamasdin and Charm beat #45 Marco Born and Andreas Siljestrom of Middle Tennessee State (7-5, 6-4). In the Quarterfinals, they fell to 6th-ranked (and eventual doubles tournament runners-up) Mark Growcott and Ken Skupski of LSU (6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-4).
