Goldberg Named Co-SIDA ESPN the Magazine First Team District I Academic All-American

PROVIDENCE, RI - Senior co-captain Nicholas Goldberg (Albuquerque, NM), of the men's tennis team, was named to the District I ESPN the Magazine First Team Academic All-American Team, as selected by Co-SIDA. As a first team district honoree, Goldberg's information will be forwarded onto the national ballot.
A Second Team All-Ivy selection in both singles and doubles, Goldberg battled back from an injury at the start of the Bears' regular season. He came back after rehab to earn a 7-4 record at #2 singles, including a 3-2 mark in the Ivy League as Brown claimed its second Ivy Championship in four years and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. He also played at #1, where he went 4-2 (1-1) and at #3, where he went 1-1. Goldberg posted an overall record of 22-8 in singles action with a winning percentage of .733, which ranked third on the team.
In doubles action, Goldberg and his partner, senior Adil Shamasdin (Pickering, ONT) went 15-7 overall, including a 7-5 dual match record at #1 doubles. The duo posted a 3-2 record at #1 doubles during the Ivy season.
