Columbus, OH - Fresh off their ITA Northeast Regional Doubles Title, senior Eric Thomas (Cincinnati, OH) and sophomore Basu Ratnam (Oyster Bay, NY) picked up a first round victory in the ITA National Indoors on Thursday afternoon. The second straight doubles team to represent Brown at the National Indoors, and the third Brown team in the past four years to compete at the National Indoors, Thomas and Ratnam are still undefeated on the season, posting a 9-0 record.
Pitted against New Mexico's Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski, who are ranked 50th in the country, Thomas and Ratnam picked up an 8-5 victory to advance to Friday's Quarterfinals. In doing so, they became Brown's first-ever doubles team to win a first-round match at the National Indoors.
Ratnam and Thomas will face second-seeded Brian Hung and Matko Maravic, of Michigan, in the quarterfinals tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m.
