PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's tennis team continued its strong individual play this past weekend at its own Northeast Intercollegiate. Senior Nicholas Goldberg (Albuquerque, NM) and junior Luke Tedaldi (West Newton, MA) each won their respective singles flights, while the duo of Goldberg and senior Adil Shamasdin (Pickering, ONT), and the duo of sophomore Eric Thomas (Cincinnati, OH) and freshman Saurabh Kohli (Colaba Mumbai, India) each combined to win their respective doubles flights.

Goldberg led the way in the "#1" singles flight, defeating teammate Thomas, 6-4, 6-3 in the finals. Junior Richard Moss (Johannesburg, South Africa) and Shamasdin also represented Brown in the "#1" flight. Moss took ninth place, while Shamasdin advanced to the semifinals, before falling to teammate Thomas, 6-0, 7-6 (3).

Highlighting the "#2" singles flight was junior Philip Charm (Concord, MA), who earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Kohli to earn fifth place.

Tedaldi led the way for the Bears in the "#3" singles flight, winning that flight with a 6-7 (8), 6-3, 6-3 win over Walter Garcia from Niagara. Freshman Michael Scherer (Potomac, MD) also competed in the "#3" flight, taking fifth place with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 win over Erez Cohen of Manhattan.

Freshman Scott Blumenkranz (Portola Valley, CA) was the only Brown competitor in the "#4" singles flight. He won his first match, before falling in the quarterfinals. Blumenkranz defeated Max Tedaldi of Harvard, brother of Brown's Luke, 6-2, 6-4 and then earned fifth in the flight with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Luka Djordevic of Hofstra.

The Bears were also very successful in doubles action as the duo of Goldberg and Shamasdin earned an 8-2 win over teammates Charm and Moss in the "1" flight. In the "#2" flight, the team of Thomas and Kohli claimed the title with an 8-3 win over a pair from Bucknell. In "#3" doubles, Tedaldi paired with his brother, Max, from Harvard, taking seventh place, while Blumenkranz and Scherer finished in 10th place.
