PROVIDENCE, RI - The 36th-ranked Brown men's tennis team (21-5, 5-0) earned a dominating, 7-0, victory over Dartmouth in its final home match of the season. Brown swept both singles and doubles and dropped just one set on the afternoon, en route to the win.
The Bears cruised to the doubles point, opening with an 8-0 win at #1 by seniors Adil Shamasdin (Pickering, ONT) and Nicholas Goldberg (Albuquerque, NM). Juniors Richard Moss (Johannesburg, South Africa) and Philip Charm (Concord, MA) picked up a win at #2, 9-8 (4), while freshman Saurabh Kohli (Colaba, Mumbai, India) and sophomore Eric Thomas (Cincinnati, OH) posted a win at #3, 8-3, for the sweep and the 1-0 lead.
Highlighting the singles wins was Charm's 6-0, 6-0 victory at #5. Goldberg earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at #1, while Shamasdin posted a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory at #2. Thomas earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at #3, while Moss picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win at #4. Following Charm's win, freshman Michael Scherer (Potomac, MD) made his Ivy debut with a 6-0, 7-5 win at #6.
The only Ivy team without a League loss, the Bears will look to stretch their winning streak to seven games when they face Harvard in a critical Ivy matchup in Cambridge, MA on Sunday, April 24th, at 12:00 noon.
