Coach Jay Harris' 56th ranked Brown men's tennis continued its winning ways with a 7-0 victory over Rutgers and a 6-1 decision over Buffalo at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Senior captain Chris Drake led the way at number one against Rutgers, coming away with a 6-4, 6-4 victory. The sweep of singles continued with Nick Goldberg capturing a 6-1, 6-2 win at number two and sophomore Adil Shamasdin earning a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 victory at number two.
The Bears also captured matches at four, five and six against the Scarlet Knights, with Ben Brier (7-5, 6-3), freshman Zack Pasanen (6-3, 7-6) and freshman Phil Charm (6-1, 6-2), respectively, earning victories. Brown also captured the doubles point with the team of junior Jamie Cerretanio and Drake coming away with an 8-3 win, and the duo of Kris Goddard and Charm earning an 8-4 decision.
Cerretani led the Bears against Buffalo with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number one. Also winning for the Bears were Brier at number two (6-2, 6-1), freshman Richard Moss at number four (6-4, 3-6, 6-2), freshman Luke Tedaldi at number five (4-6, 6-2, 1-0), and Charm at number six (6-1, 6-1). Brown swept the doubles point behind its number one team of Shamasdin and Goldberd, the 26th ranked doubles team in the nation, who earned an 8-5 victory. The Bears' duo of Goddard and Pasanen won 8-1 at number two doubles, while Tedaldi and Moss were 8-2 winners at number three.
