Bears Drop First Match of Spring Season, Falling to NC State, 4-3

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's tennis team dropped its first match of the spring season on Sunday afternoon, falling to NC State, 4-3, in a thrilling match at the Pizzitola Center Indoor Courts. Senior Adil Shamasdin (Pickering, ONT) led the way with wins at #1 doubles and #2 singles.

NC State started the match off by winning the doubles point as Shamasdin and junior Philip Charm (Concord, MA) were the only Brown victory, winning at #1 (9-7).

In singles action, sophomore Eric Thomas (Cincinnati, OH) earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at #1, while Shamasdin posted a 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 win at #2. Junior Richard Moss Johannesburg, South Africa) earned Brown's only other win, at #4, winning 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (2).

Brown continues action February 19, when it travels to Annapolis, MD to take on Navy.
