Men's Tennis Cruises Past Colgate, 7-0

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's tennis team (7-1) picked up a 7-0 win over Colgate on Saturday afternoon at the Pizzitola Center, defeating the Raiders in dominating fashion.

The Bears earned the doubles point with wins in all matches, as senior Adil Shamasdin (Pickering, ONT) and junior Philip Charm (Concord, MA) earned an 8-5 win at #1. Freshman Saurabh Kohli (Colaba, Mumbai, India) and sophomore Eric Thomas (cincinnati, OH) posted an 8-3 victory at #2, while juniors Luke Tedaldi (West Newton, MA) and Richard Moss (Johannesburg, South Africa) earned an 8-5 win at #3.

In singles action, the Bears won all six matches in straight sets, with Thomas leading the way at #1, 6-2, 6-2. Shamasdin posted a 6-2, 6-3 win at #2, while Tedaldi earned a 6-1, 6-3 win at #3. Moss won at #4, 6-4, 6-0, while Kohli won at #5, 6-2, 7-5. Finally, at #6, freshman Michael Scherer (Potomac, MD) earned a 6-2, 6-1 win.

Brown continues action tomorrow, when it hosts NC State at 11:00 a.m.
