Pearlman hasn't shown any slowdowns as a sophomore this fall. After losing to the eventual champion from University of Mississippi in the first round of the USTA Invite in New York, he stepped up at the Bruno Invitational to not drop a match in the #1 position. He entered the ITA Regional Championships as the #9 seed and advanced to the quarterfinals, before losing to the #1 player in the region 6-2, 2-6, 6-3. Jon has also made huge strides on the doubles court this year as he and Charlie Posner '10 won a big opening-round match against Harvard in that same ITA Regional Tournament.
Pearlman grew up in New York, New York where his highest national ranking was #51. He traveled extensively throughout the world playing in various ITF tournaments. He graduated from the prestigious Fieldston School in New York, and at Brown is strongly considering concentrating in the Business Economics track of the COE (commerce, organizations, and entrepreneurship) program.
Pearlman's hobbies include film-making, acting, mountain biking, and drawing. His favorite tennis player is Rafael Nadal and his favorite athlete is Terrell Owens. Jon has seen every episode of the show Curb Your Enthusiasm, and his choice movie is Boogie Nights. His favorite food is sushi.
Jon's parents are Mark and Susan, and they currently reside in New York City.
