As a freshman, he led the team in singles wins (24) and his 6-1 record in league play helped the team to a second place Ivy League finish.
Au was ranked the number one player in the Newfoundland section for seven consecutive years. As a high school senior, he was ranked in the top 5 in the nation. Growing up, he excelled at soccer and hockey. He was on the provincial club soccer team where they qualified for the nationals and placed fifth. In hockey, he won the award for being the top scorer at the prestigious Atlantic Canada tournament.
Au is debating whether to concentrate his studies in neuroscience or biology. He seeks to be in the field of medicine upon graduation from Brown. He played the drums, piano and jazz trumpet for six years and is quite an accomplished musician.
Au has an older brother Keegan, and two older sisters, Jana and Kelly. His father Peter currently resides in St. Johns, Newfoundland.
