Amit Inbar was named an assistant tennis coach at Brown in October of 2012. Inbar came to Brown after spending the 2011-12 season as a volunteer assistant coach at UCLA.
A 2011 graduate of UCLA, with a degree in International Development Studies, Inbar was a three-year member of the men’s tennis team (2009-2011) after competing for the University of Maryland in 2008-09. While at UCLA, Inbar competed in two NCAA Championships, advancing to the Second Round of the 2011 Singles Championship and to the Round of 16 in the 2010 Doubles Championship, earning All-America honors. The Bruins’ MVP in 2010, Inbar was a recipient of a PAC-10 post-graduate scholarship in 2011. He was also a two-time Second Team All-Pac-10 honoree, earning recognition in both 2010 and 2011. In three years at UCLA, Inbar accumulated 69 singles wins and 71 doubles victories, ending his career ranked 50th in the nation in singles and 66th in doubles.
A native of Tel Aviv, Israel, Inbar served three years (2003-2007) in the Israeli Army (Air Force Division). He has also worked as a Tennis Instructor at several clubs and camps since the summer of 2009
