Men’s Tennis Concludes Play at Ivy Plus and Yale Tournaments

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Brown men's tennis team opened up the season over the weekend at the Ivy Plus Tournament at the Lenz Tennis Center and at the Yale Tournament at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center (Sept. 22-24). At the Ivy Plus Tournament, junior Charles Tan (Austin, Texas), sophomore Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) and sophomore Peter Litsky (St. Petersburg, Fla.) had strong showings, all reaching the semifinal of their respective draws on Saturday. At the Yale Tournament, junior Austin Hearst (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) knocked off Penn's Matthew Lambert on Sunday, 6-4, 2-6, 10-3.

A total of 21 teams competed in the tournaments, which included Baylor, Boston University, Brown, Bryant, Buffalo, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Fairfield, Florida, Harvard, Marist, Monmouth, UNC Asheville, Penn, Penn State, Princeton, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Yale.
