Men’s Tennis Falls to Buffalo, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's tennis team was defeated by Buffalo, 5-2,
on Sunday at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Junior Aaron Sandberg (Hudson, Ohio) recorded a win in singles for the Bears. 

After falling in their first doubles match, the Bears won the next two to claim the doubles point. Juniors Jack Haworth (Corby, England) and Anthony Arocho (Norridge, Ill.) teamed up to win second doubles, 6-4. Next, seniors Gregory Garcia (Poway, Calif.) and Lucas Da Silveira (Incline Village, Nev.) won the point for the Bears in the first spot, 7-6.

With the score tied 1-1, Sandberg won his second singles match, 7-5, 6-2. Haworth later had a chance to win his third singles match, taking the first set 6-3, but fell in the next two sets, 3-6, 4-6. Buffalo went on to win the next four singles matches to claim the win.

The Bears will next host Bryant and Boston College at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Sunday, Jan. 29. The match against the Bulldogs will start at 11:00 a.m. while the match versus the Eagles will begin at 5:00 p.m.
