  • Men's Tennis Announces Team Awards

    Brown men’s tennis head coach Tim Gray announced the program’s award winners recently at the team’s banquet. Junior Jack Haworth (Corby, England) earned the team’s MVP honor and freshman Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) received the Margaux Powers Bruno Award, which is given to the tennis player who best exemplifies leadership through courage, determination, passion, commitment, sportsmanship and compassion.

    The Brown men’s tennis team was edged by No. 26 Cornell, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon. Brown won the doubles point and the first two singles matches but Cornell would close out the match with four singles wins to take the victory.

  • Da Silveira and Garcia Rank No. 44 in ITA Doubles

    Brown men’s tennis seniors Lucas Da Silveira (Incline Village, Nev.) and Gregory Garcia (Poway, Calif.) are ranked No. 44 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Collegiate Rankings for men’s doubles. Out of 90 ranked teams, the duo jumped from unranked to 44 this week.
  • Men’s Tennis Falls to Princeton, 4-2

    The Brown men’s tennis team was defeated by Princeton, 4-2, on Sunday at the Varsity Tennis Courts. Seniors Lucas Da Silveira (Incline Village, Nev.) and Gregory Garcia (Poway, Calif.) highlighted the finishes of the day, recording a 6-2 win over No. 31 Alexander Day and Luke Gamble in doubles in their last home collegiate match. The Tigers would then win four singles matches to take the victory.

    The Brown men’s tennis team was defeated by Penn, 4-3, on Saturday at the Varsity Tennis Courts. The Bears opened the match winning the doubles point and two-straight singles matches, but the Quakers would close out the day winning the last four matches for the victory.

    The Brown men’s tennis team was edged by No. 36 Old Dominion, 4-2 on Sunday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. Junior Peter Tarwid (Lake Forest, Ill.) and Anthony Arocho (Norridge, Ill.) highlighted the Bears’ finishes on the day, defeating the No. 45 ranked doubles team in first doubles.

Freshman Peter Litksy (St. Petersburg, Fla.) won the consolation final in his draw while junior Aaron Sandberg (Hudson, Ohio) reached the semifinals of his draw and defeated No. 89 Timo Stodder of Tennessee in his opening match of the invite.
