Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Honors
SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Brown men and women's tennis teams earned All-Academic accolades as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Thursday. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA member program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or higher.
"The ITA wishes to congratulate all schools named to the ITA All-Academic Team and the ITA Scholar-Athletes for achieving great success both on and off the court," said David Benjamin, Executive Director of the ITA.
For the ninth consecutive season, the women's tennis program earned All-Academic team honors after landing six members on the Scholar-Athlete list. Sophomores Hannah Camhi (Woodbury, N.Y.), Ammu Mandalap (Princeton Junction, N.J.), and Ashley Noyes (Marblehead, Mass.) were named Scholar-Athletes for the second time in as many seasons. Sophomore Olivia Hsu (Santa Rosa, Calif.) made her Scholar-Athlete debut while freshmen Mariska Chamdani (Santa Clara, Calif.) and Dayna Lord (Bloomfield, Conn.) also earned the honors.
The Brown men's team earned All-Academic honors for the fourth consecutive campaign after eight members were named Scholar-Athletes. Seniors Brandon Burke (Kingston, Jamaica), Soufiane Azargui (Burlington, Ontario) and David Neff (New York, N.Y.) all earned Scholar-Athlete distinction. The Bears' four juniors, Daniel Hirschberg (Westport, Conn.), Jacob Laser (Glencoe, Ill.), William Spector (Weston, Mass.), and Justin To (Hong Kong, China) earned the honors with sophomore Thomas Nath (Rochester, Minn.), rounding out the group.
