Men's Tennis Falls to No. 17 Columbia, 4-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 17 Columbia rode the strength of three singles victories and a clean sweep of doubles play en route to a 4-1 Ivy League victory over the Brown men's tennis team (10-9, 0-3 Ivy) at the Varsity Tennis Courts on Saturday.

 

The highly ranked Lions got a victory from No. 12 Winston Lin, as he defeated Brown's Justin To, 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 1 singles contest.  Ivan Kravtchenko scored the Bears' lone triumph on the afternoon, defeating Columbia's Bert Vancura, 6-3, 6-4.

 

The duo of Lucas Da Silveira and Justin To battled hard against No. 7 Ashok Narayana/Max Schnur before ultimately falling, 8-3 in doubles play.

 

Brown returns to action on Sunday with a home match against Cornell at 1 p.m.
