Brown Men's Swimming Moves Up to 6th Place In the EISL Championships

The Bears moved up two places in Friday's competition to 6th place with 482 points, just two points out of 5th. Leading the way for the Bears was senior Max Allen (Casy, NC) who placed third in the 100-yard butterfly and helped the 200-yard medley and 800-yard free relay teams to top finishes.

In the 200-yard medley relay, Brown took a 7th place finish with seniors Allen, Jefferson Moors (Novi, MI), PJ Santoro (Concord, MA) and junior Matt Zimmerman (Greensboro, NC).

In the 9th event of the competition, sophomore Eric Brumberg (Sewell, NJ) took a fifth place finish for the Bears swimming at 3:58.80.

In the next event, the Bears added on the points with three top 10 finishes in the 100-yard butterfly. Allen took a third place finish swimming at 49.35 and teammates Zimmerman and junior Matt DelMastro (Whitby, ONT) took a 7-8 finish.

In the 200-yard free Moors kept Brown going with a first place finish, swimming at 1:37.60. In the next event, the 100-yard breast DelMastro came through with a fourth place finish.

In the last event, the Bears took fourth in the 800-yard free relay with Moors, Allen, Brumberg and junior Tim Wang leading the team.

The competition will finish on Saturday with the finals beginning at 6:00 p.m.
