Channing Kimball joined the Brown swimming and diving staff as the diving coach in September of 2010. Kimball comes to College Hill after spending three years as a diving coach at Alma College in Alma, Michigan.
In her three years at Brown, Kimball has led the Bears to personal best scores and higher conference finishes on the boards. She coached diver Jon Feldman to a 7th place finish on the 1-meter board at the 2011 Ivy League Championship, as well as a 9th place finish on the 1-meter board at the 2012 Ivy League Championship. Feldman also competed in the NCAA Zone A Meet during both of those seasons, finishing in14th place on the 1-meter in 2011.
During her time at Alma College, Kimball coached the 2010 MIAA champion in the men’s 1-meter and 3-meter events, as well as the 2010 MIAA 3rd place finisher in the women’s 3-meter. She also took both of these divers to the 2010 NCAA Division III NCAA meet in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where they finished in the top 16 on both boards and were awarded All-American honors.
Kimball was a four-year letter winner at the University of Wyoming, graduating with a B.S. in Business Management in 2004, and served as captain of the swimming and diving team during her junior and senior seasons. In 2003, she received the program’s Most Inspirational Award and was named the Mountain West Conference Diver of the Week in January. Kimball was named an Academic All-American from 2001-2004 and also served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee throughout her college career.
Kimball's experience extends beyond collegiate coaching, as she has also served as a diving coach at the Longhorns Diving Camp for the past three summers, as well as the Army Diving Camp in 2011 and 2012. In May of 2011, she traveled to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida as a Team Leader with USA Diving. Currently, Kimball is completing her Masters Degree in Coaching Education from Ohio University.
