Men's Swimming and Diving Outlasted by Harvard, 194-101

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Brown men's swimming and diving squad battled Ivy League foe, Harvard, on Saturday before ultimately dropping its first decision of the season, 194-101.

 

Despite the loss, the Bears took home titles in four events, led by double event winner Tommy Glenn (Haddonfield, N.J.).

 

Glenn took home the crown in both the 100-yard butterfly (49.24) and 200-yard butterfly (1:48.75).

 

The Bears also found success in the 200-yard IM as Brown claimed the top-four finishes in the event, led by Connor Lohman's (Prospect, Ky.) mark of 1:55.29.  Max Bley-Male (1:59.16), Cory Mayfield (2:01.90), and Christopher Meyers (2:05.02) rounded out the top-four for the Bears.

 

The quartet of Alex Pascal (Longmeadow, Mass.), Jeffrey Strausser (Lafayette, Calif.), Jack Nee (Pepper Pike, Ohio), and Tommy Glenn claimed victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:07.00).  The Bears' B team of Oliver Diamond, Daniel Klotz, Max Blay-Male, and William Lacosta finished second with a mark of 3:12.15, followed by the D team of Paul Hunter, Nick Johnston, Ryan Saenger, and Cory Mayfield (3:17.15).

 

In diving action, sophomore Sazzy Gourley (Charlotte, N.C.) placed second in the three-meter diving event with 327.76 points.

 

Brown continues Ivy League competition next Saturday as they travel to Philadelphia to take on Penn.
