PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND – The Brown swimming and diving teams will host seven intercollegiate squads this weekend in the first annual Brown Invitational. The Bears welcome Ivy League foes Dartmouth, Princeton, Columbia and Yale, as well as teams from Army, Rider and the University of New Hampshire. Competition will take place from Friday, November 30 to Sunday, December 2 at the newly constructed Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. Trials sessions begin at 11am on the first two days of competition, with finals beginning at 6pm. Sunday's sessions will be moved up an hour with swimming and diving commencing at 10am and then again at 5pm.
Fans who will not be making the trip to Providence for the event can follow the action live from home or from their smart phone. Finals sessions will be broadcast through video streaming each evening, and can be accessed through either swimming and diving schedule page on brownbears.com. Access can be purchased with a single day pass ($8), allowing the viewer to watch any Brown event occurring on that particular day.
Additionally, live results for the meet will be available through the Active Network's Meet Mobile application available as a free download from either iTunes or Google Play. The app provides fans with the ability to view real-time results and splits, as well as heat sheets, final results and team scores, and the download can be accessed through the live stats link on the swimming and diving schedule pages.
This weekend is the last competition of the fall semester for both the men (2-0-0, 0-0-0 Ivy League) and women (2-0-0, 0-0-0 Ivy League), with both teams returning to the water on Saturday, January 5 when they take on Providence College.
