Brown Recognizes Swimming & Diving Accomplishments at Annual Banquet
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The men's swimming and diving team celebrated their 2010-2011 season with a banquet in which the student-athletes athletes, coaches and special guests honored the teams' hard work and season accomplishments with the presentation of varsity letters and team awards at local restaurant Twist on Angell.
First year men letter winners included freshman Seth Akers-Campbell, freshman Danny Fujinaka, freshman Tommy Glenn, freshman Paul Hunter, sophomore Michael Johnson, junior Timothy Juhn and senior Sam Speroni. Sophomore Michael McVicker received his second letter while juniors Jonathan Feldman and James Hunter received their third letters. Seniors Conor Carlucci and Ryan Kikuchi received their fourth letters, which are represented by a white letter sweater.
The Joseph Watmough MVP Award was given to Carlucci. The Ken Miller '70 Scholar-Athlete Award was presented to Kikuchi.
Glenn was the recipient of The Thomas R. Temple '65 Coaches Award, while Speroni was honored with the Win Wilson '51 Service Award.
Head coach Peter Brown recognized that there were five school records broken during the 2010-2011 season as well as many personal best times and scores. He also saluted the seniors and their dedication, perseverance and leadership over the past four years.
The announcement of the 2011-2012 Captains will happen in the next few weeks.
