Peter Avitable has been named an assistant men’s and women’s squash coach at Brown in an announcement made by head squash coach Stuart leGassick.  Avitable comes to Brown from Connecticut College, where he was the assistant coach a year ago, and helped coach the Men’s Varsity team to a first place finish in the Conroy Division.

Prior to coaching at Connecticut College, Avitable was the head squash pro with the Greater Albany Squash Association in Albany NY for five years, working with all levels of players, including some of the top juniors in the country.

While in Albany, Avitable also worked with the inaugural Siena College club squash team and coached the squad to their first intercollegiate match, and first trip to the national tournament.

Avitable graduated from the University or Rochester with a degree in physics, and was captain of the Men’s Varsity Squash team. He is a certified Level 2 squash coach.
