Men’s Squash Post-Season Banquet

Providence, R.I. - The Brown men's squash team wrapped up its season with the annual Squash Team Banquet at the Faculty Club in Providence, R.I. with the announcement of team awards, the naming captains for the 2017-18 season and the announcement of the incoming Class of 2021.  

 

There were several awards received, including the Best Record at the Team Nationals which went to co-captain Alexander Baldock '17 at this year's team championships at #8, winning his matches against MIT, Middlebury and Williams.

 

The Most Improved Player award was shared by Ben Caraballo '19 and Nick Pitaro '20, and the Quint Stevenson Memorial award was presented to Thomas Blecher  '18.


The team and coaches also recognized four players who received the CSA Scholar Athlete Awards that are awarded to those athletes that have played in 50% or more of the matches and have a 3.5 GPA or better. They were co-captain Alexander Demeulenaere '17, co-captain  Alexander Baldock '17, Charlie Blasberg '18,  Thomas Blecher '18 and Thomas Walker '18.

The Brown team thanked the senior Captains Alex Baldock and Alex Demeulenaere  for their leadership and efforts on and off the squash courts over careers at Brown.

 

Coach Stuart leGassick's squad looks forward to the arrival of the freshmen in the fall: Maximo Moyer (Philadelphia PA), and Andrew Wei (Seattle WA).
