New Haven, Conn. – The Brown men's squash team completed its season with a strong effort at the CSA National Championship, placing 16th in the nation in the Hoehn Cup after falling to #9 Dartmouth (8-1), #12 Penn (7-2) and #14 Navy (7-2).
Senior #5 Chris Holter (Baltimore, MD) was the lone winner for the Bears against the Big Green, rallying for a 3-1 win, after dropping the first game.
Junior Blake Reinson (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) and senior Alexander Hsu (New Hope, PA) both won their matches against the Quakers. Playing at number one, Reinson battled through a long 5-set match, winning the first, third, and fifth games. #9 Hsu lost his first two games, but then made an incredible comeback, winning the final three games to help Brown put another victory on the board.
Reinson also won his match against #14 Navy, winning the second, third and fifth games. Senior Eamon O'Connor (Toronto, Ontario), the third seed, also won his match by a 3-1 margin. Junior #7 Philip Holberton (Lincoln, MA) and #4 freshman Jack Blasberg (Boston, MA) played tough individual games to push their opponent to five sets.
Brown will have representation travel to Trinity on March 1-3 to participate in the National Collegiate Individuals.
