Brown Cruises Past Amherst, 9-0

Amherst, Mass. – Led by junior Blake Reinson at number one and a five-game win by senior Eamon O'Connor at number two, the 18th-ranked Brown's men's squash team captured a 9-0 win over Amherst Tuesday evening and extend its record to 6-1 overall.

 

Reinson paced the Bears a 3-1 victory at number one, but O'Connor's match was the highlight of the evening. After capturing the first two games, O'Connor fell by narrow 11-9 margins in games three and four.  He came back to earn a 12-10 victory in the deciding fifth match.


The Bears also had wins by freshman Matt Snower (3-0) at number five, junior Philip Holberton (3-0) at number six, junior Charles Lebovitz (3-0) at number seven, sophomore Avi Bhavnani (3-1) at number eight and senior Alex Hsu (3-0) at number nine.

 

Brown hosts both Bates (11 am) and Bowdoin (1:30 pm) Sunrday afternoon, January 27, at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
