Providence, RI - Brown sophomore defender Matt Britner and junior forward Andrew Daniels earned NSCAA All-New England honors for the 2005 season. Britner was selected to the First Team while Daniels was named to the Third Team. Both received First Team All-Ivy honors after leading the Bears to a share of the Ivy Title and a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Britner, the anchor of the Brown defense, started all 18 games as the team's co-captain. The Halifax, Nova Scotia native scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime against Cornell back on Oct. 22. He was named the Ivy Player of the Week twice (9/12, 10/24) and was also tabbed the ECAC Player of the Week (10/24). Britner was named the Defensive MVP of the adidas/Brown Classic.
Daniels registered a team-high six goals this season, including goals in three out of four games towards the end of the season. Daniels tallied a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win at Harvard. He also registered the game-tying goal in a 1-1 tie with Providence College and scored the game-winning goal against Penn.
