PROVIDENCE, RI - Six players on the Brown men's soccer team garnered post-season honors from the Ivy League for their efforts in the 2001 fall season.
Senior captain Adam Buchanan (Chandler, AZ) and junior defender Dustin Branan (Lakeville, MN) were named first team All-Ivy selections for guiding the Bears to a share of their second consecutive Ivy League title with a 5-1-1 league record.
Buchanan, a center-midfielder, was the catalyst for the Bears this season, starting all of Brown's 16 games and playing all but 10 minutes of the entire season. He recorded two goals and three assists to finish the year with seven points. In his career at Brown, Buchanan notched 26 points on 5 goals and 16 assists. Buchanan finished his career tied for seventh on the all-time Brown assist list with 16 career helpers.
Branan , a third year defensive starter for the Bears, solidified the Brown backfield this season with tenacious and aggressive play. He recorded one assist this season in a 5-0 victory over Tulsa at the Yale Fila Classic in New Haven, CT. Branan was named as an All-Ivy honorable mention last season.
Senior forward Adrian Rapp (Sausalito, CA), who missed nine games of the season due to a torn ACL, was named second team All-Ivy. Rapp led the Bears in points with 13, on six goals and one assist in only eight games of action. He was named to the Ivy League Honor Roll twice this season and recorded two game-winning goals. Rapp finished his career with 33 points on 14 goals and 5 assists.
Sophomores Adom Crew (Columbia, MD) and Julian Jordan (Fort Wayne, IN) along with freshman Jeff Larentowicz (West Chester, PA) were named as All-Ivy honorable mention selections. Crew, a forward for the Bears, finished second on the team in points with 11 on three goals and five assists. Jordan, a versatile player who split his time between midfield and defense, maintained the back line for the Bears in their late season run for the Ivy title. Larentowicz started on defense as a freshman and provided the Bears with consistent play all season.
