PROVIDENCE, RI - Junior midfielder Evan Ryan (Guilford, CT) was named the Ivy League Player of the Week in men's soccer for the week of November 12.
Ryan netted his second goal of the season just over three and a half minutes into the second half to give Brown a 1-0 victory over Dartmouth on Sunday afternoon at Stevenson Field.
The goal was Ryan's second game-winning tally of the season. On October 6, Ryan notched a golden goal in the first overtime period at Columbia to give the Bears a key 1-0 Ivy League decision. All of Ryan's four career points have come this season. This is Ryan's first Player of the Week selection.
The Bears (6-7-2, 4-1-1 Ivy League) have won three straight Ivy League games and are currently in third place behind Harvard and Princeton. On Saturday, November 17, Brown will play at Harvard with the Ivy League title on the line. A win for the Bears would earn them a share of the league title with Princeton. The Bears won the Ivy League title in 2000 with a 7-0-0 record in league play.
