Nov. 9, 2006

Providence, RI - Brown University senior Andrew Daniels (Milwaukee, WI), sophomore Rhett Bernstein (San Diego, CA), senior Brian Joyce (Silver Spring, MD), and Ben Brackett (West Des Moines, IA) have been named to the 2006 All-Ivy Men's Soccer Team as selected by the League's eight head coaches. Daniels and Bernstein both earned spots on the First Team, as Joyce and Brackett each earned Second Team.

Bernstein, a unanimous First Team selection, led Brown (10-4-3) in scoring this year with eight goals and 16 points in 17 games played. He picked up two game-winning goals this season, the first coming against Hartwick College on Sept. 19 and the other against Princeton on Oct. 7.

Daniels, who is Brown's second leading scorer this year with five goals, four assists and 14 points in 17 games played, received Honorable Mention his sophomore season. His junior year he earned First-Team All-Ivy while also receiving NSCAA All-New England honors as well.

Senior midfielder Brian Joyce and defender Ben Brackett have both done a stellar job on defense for the Bears this season. Joyce, the team's fourth leading scorer with two goals, five assists and nine points, is tied for first on the team for assists and also ranks sixth in the League. Last year, Joyce earned All-Ivy Honorable Mention.

Brackett, who has recorded one assist and one point on the season, has helped Brown's defense to post four shutouts and has been a major key to the success of Bruno's backfield this year.

Brown, who received an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament on Monday, will be hosting Adelphi at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Stevenson Field. This not only marks the Bears' 22nd appearance in the tournament, but is also the third time Brown's seven seniors will have participated in post-season play.
