Brown freshman forward Kevin Davies was named the Ivy League Men's Soccer Player of the Week after scoring a goal in the Bears 4-0 win over Penn on Saturday.
Davies added the finishing touch to the shutout over the Quakers, scoring the Bears' final goal with 44 seconds left to play in the game off a long punt by senior goalkeeper Chris Gomez. The goal was Davies second of the season. He is fifth on the team with five points this season, first among freshmen.
The win put the Bears back in the hunt for the Ivy title as the team now stands in the midst of a four-way tie for second with Harvard, Princeton and Yale. Dartmouth gained sole possession of first place with a 1-0 win over the Crimson on Sunday.
