Brown's Ibrahim Diane (Potomac, MD) was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the week of Oct. 28th after scoring the game-winning goal in the Bears first Ivy League win of the season against Cornell Saturday night. Diane scored the lone goal of the game in the 73rd minute on a high shot from the center of the box. The freshman is second in scoring for Brown with four goals and two assists for 10 points this season. He has played in all 13 games, earning 12 starts.
Diane scored his first collegiate goal in Brown's season opener against Michigan at the adidas/Brown Classic on Sept. 13. The 5'11" forward/midfielder was named to the Classic's All-Tournament Team. Diane continued his excellent play the following weekend at the Yale Classic, picking up four points on a goal and two assists in the team's 5-1 victory over Vanderbilt on Sept. 22, once again getting an All-Tournament nod. He picked up one more goal in Brown's 2-2 tie with Santa Clara on Oct. 4.
Brown currently stands at 5-4-4 overall and 1-1-2 (3rd) in Ivy League play. The Bears have four games left to the play this season, including three conference games. Brown will travel to Chestnut Hill, MA to face 14th ranked Boston College on Wednesday Oct. 30 at 2:30 p.m.
