Providence, RI - Brown freshman forward Scott Geppert was named a Third Team Freshman All-American by College Soccer News. Geppert, who was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year, led the Bears with 14 points off four goals and six assists this past season. Brown made its 21st appearance in the NCAA Tournament after capturing a share of its 18th Ivy League Title. The Bears advanced to the second round, narrowly losing to eventual NCAA Champion Maryland, 1-0.
Geppert played in all 17 games, starting 14 for the Bears. His 14 points ranked fourth in the league and first among all rookies in the Ancient Eight. His four goals tied for third on the team and tied for tenth in the Ivies. In addition, his six assists were tied for the team and league-lead with teammate Brian Joyce `07. Geppert tallied three game-winning goals, tops on the team and third in the league. He tallied two goals and five assists in Ivy contests, including a one goal, two-assist performance against Harvard. Geppert was named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week twice (9/6, 9/19) during the regular season.
